B-On-Time Loan

The purpose of the Texas B-On-Time Loan program is to provide eligible Texas students zero percent interest loans to attend colleges and universities in Texas. If the student meets specified goals, the entire loan amount can be forgiven upon graduation.

The Texas B-On-Time Loan is a great program, and students are encouraged to participate. For more information, visit the TWU Financial Aid Student Loans guide or visit the official Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board website at HH Loans.com.

To be eligible for loan forgiveness with the B-On-Time loan, you must meet the criteria listed below.

• This must be your first baccalaureate degree and;
• You must be an undergraduate classified as a Texas Resident for tuition purposes and;
• You must graduate with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4 point scale and;
• Receive a baccalaureate degree within four calendar years after the date you initially enrolled in an eligible institution. Or, within five calendar years after you initially enrolled in an eligible institution, if the institution reports that you graduated with a degree in architecture, engineering, or any other program that the institution certifies to the Board is a program that requires more than four years to complete, or;
• You must graduate with no more than six credit hours more than the number of credit hours required for your program.
  • The cumulative number of credit hours earned, including transfer credit hours, may not exceed six hours more than the number of credit hours required to complete your degree. (Excluding dual credit hours, hours earned exclusively by examination, and hours earned for developmental coursework the university required you to take under TEC, Section 51.336 relating to the Success Initiative.)

  Upon graduation and meeting the criteria listed, you may complete and submit the Texas B-On-Time Loan Application for Forgiveness.
